Return to Germany
1945 - 2010 | Click to see video
In June, 2010, after 65 years of searching for the remains of his father, Sam Baron returned to a concentration camp where he suffered greatly, to see for the first time the final resting place of his father and learn of the details of those events from the man responsible for his exhumation from mass grave to a proper burial in a cemetery. Through the valiant efforts of local Germans devoted to remembering the past and commemorating the survivors, he was able to come to a sense of closure and to establish new friendships with fellow survivors and with the locals who celebrated his life and history. Accompanying him was his wife, Tova and son, Eric.
